Maxwell Solar Farm

Project Overview

X-ELIO is developing a Proposal for a Solar Farm in Maxwell, approximately 23 km south of Wagga Wagga within the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area (LGA). The proposed Solar Farm would include a Battery Energy Storage System, substation, and connection to 330kV transmission lines.

The proposed site is 1013 ha and the main entrance to the site would be on Holbrook Road.

The site would involve the construction and operation of photovoltaic (PV) solar farm with a capacity of up to 300MWp plus storage that would supply electricity to the national electricity grid.

X-ELIO works alongside local communities to select and design Proposals that provide an overall positive impact on the community and environment. X-ELIO is a global leader within the renewable energy industry and are committed to create value in a world that is increasingly requiring cleaner sources of energy.

The first Maxwell Community meeting was held on Thursday 10 March and future meetings will soon be announced. Community members can email engage@nghengage.com.aufor more information.

The Solar Farm will create jobs, diversify income, and increase revenue to ancillary services such as food, lodging and tourism for the local area.

Estimated job numbers are approximately 300 - 350 full time equivalent (FTE) construction jobs and 8-12 FTE operational roles.

The Solar Farm will produce approximately 613,600 MWh in year 1, enough to power at least 115,000 homes and offset approximately 402,000 tonnes of CO2e pa.

The Proposal will significantly contribute towards the NSW Government’s aim of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, by supplying clean renewable energy into the grid.

X-ELIO is a global leader within the renewable energy industry and are committed to create value in a world that is increasingly requiring cleaner sources of energy. They have built more than 2GW in solar photovoltaic farms and currently have 25 solar farms in progress. X-ELIO focuses on bringing eco-friendly and highly profitable solar energy projects to communities across the globe and prides itself on being part of the positive shift towards renewable and sustainable energy.

After first entering the Australian market in Melbourne in 2017, X-ELIO currently has several solar farms under construction including a 200MW solar farm in Blue Grass, Queensland (QLD).
